Music

At Green Lea First School, we follow the National Curriculum for music. The whole school use the Charanga scheme of work to support lessons, which provides pupils with all the necessary opportunities to progress within each strand of the music objectives. The Yumu home learning platform, which is linked to Charanga, provides pupils with opportunities to practise and develop skills at home, when necessary. Pupils in year 3 and 4 learn to play a tuned instrument as part of their weekly music lessons in school, developing their performance, composition and music theory skills. In the EYFS, activities are provided for children to access as part of their continuous provision, in order to enhance their musical development.
